Public Lecture on “Propaganda and Disinformation in International Media”

On 18th of October, UG will host a public lecture on “Propaganda and Disinformation in International Media”.

Guest speaker will be Mr. Rasťo Kužel, who is a media and election expert with over 19 years of international experience as media and elections analyst. He is an Executive Director of MEMO 98, a proficient media institution with extensive experience of delivering media monitoring on behalf of international institutions as well as technical assistance to civil-society groups. For the last two years, Rasťo has focused intensively on the issue of propaganda and disinformation, conducting a research on the impact of Russian narratives in the former Soviet Union countries and beyond.

Mr Rasto Kuzel will talk about challenges covering elections related to increasing disinformation and fake news, bringing international and regional examples. Share experience of media monitors and introduce ways of catching, observing, and correcting misinformation.
